Bringing an Age-Old Classic to 4ODD
Exchange Hi Lo
Hi Lo, originally known as Hailou in the Tang Dynasty era of China, has a rich history that traces back centuries. Players in the earliest versions of the game relied on handmade cards. Later, it gained prominence across Europe through the Silk Road trade. Over time, these cards evolved into the modern decks we recognize today. The simplicity of the game, combined with its reliance on luck and straightforward gameplay, has made it accessible and appealing to players of all skill levels.
The digital era has further transformed this game into an engaging online experience with new strategies and variations. One such innovation is Exchange Hi Lo, available exclusively on the 4ODD platform’s Exchange Games section. What sets this casino table game apart is its exchange-based dynamic, which follows the format of a betting exchange. In short, players can not only bet against the house but also against other users by placing lay and back bets. In addition, the computer, employing a strategic algorithm, predicts whether the next card will be higher or lower, and players bet on how many correct predictions it will make before getting it wrong. This unique twist combines player interaction with thrilling gameplay, enhancing the excitement and creating more betting opportunities.
To meet players’ diverse preferences, 4ODD offers two versions. First, Standard mode for classic gameplay. Second, Turbo version, which is 25% faster and perfect for those who crave fast-paced action.
Learn the Basics
In Exchange Hi Lo, each betting round keeps the excitement high with a limited time frame. Specifically, you will see a progress bar above the cards to show how much time is left. The game starts with all cards from a randomly shuffled deck face down, adding an air of suspense to every move.
Your goal? To predict how far the computer can correctly guess whether the next card will be higher or lower before making a wrong prediction. You can place lay bets or back bets, giving you the flexibility to tailor your strategy. While the card counter helps guide your decisions, the ultimate thrill comes from the uncertainty of how far the predictions will go.
And for those who thrive on speed, the 1-Click betting feature lets you place your bets quickly, ensuring you never miss a moment of the action.

Rules
Card Deck
Each game uses thirteen cards, one of each face value from the spades suit. The Ace is always high.
Computer Predictions
1. The computer predicts higher if the number of cards above the most recently dealt card is equal to or greater than the number below.
2. The computer predicts lower if there are more cards below the most recently dealt card than above.
