Considerations
The bookmakers seem to think that this will be an easy win for the Three Lions. Otherwise, we cannot understand why they are offering @1.863 for an England victory, while the price for the Greeks is a mere @4.520. We completely disagree with that assessment. Let’s not forget that the hosts, in the last game between the two, won at Wembley Stadium by 2-1 and that they could have scored more. In general, Greece has been scoring quite easily while they have conceded only once and that was the goal that Jude Bellingham scored at their previous encounter.
Match circumstances:
The hosts will only be missing the services of Kourbelis – a key midfielder – who has been suspended on yellow cards. However, his replacement Siopis is in excellent form lately. On the other hand, Lee Carsley will present a different team. Alexander-Arnold, Colwill, Rice, Zaha, Palmer, Grealish, Foden and Ramsdale are injured, while Antony Gordon’s participation is doubtful. Overall, there will be seven different players appearing on the pitch. The task for England is not small. They have to win with 2 goals or more to surpass the Greeks at the top of the table. With the defensive strength that the home side has shown, this is quite difficult.
Prediction:
We do not believe that England will be able to score more than once, while it is quite probable that they will also concede. The result that we see as more than likely is a 1-1 draw. So, we will go with the suggestion of both teams to score with a draw at the end, which is offered at a massive @5.00 payout. The 7 new players can work both ways. As a handicap for the visitors on the grounds of being a cohesive team, or as the x-factor for the hosts on the basis that they may have not prepared for the eventuality.
